20983 Death and the Myth of Osiris and Isis In Egyptian creation myths, and in their mythology, there exists a hierarchical structure of family and succession. The story of Osiris begins as the child of the Gods who once ruled the earth. In his myth, Osiris becomes the Emperor of the world after the ascension to Heaven of the God Ra. A jealous brother, Seth, killed him. Osiris became, in death, the idealized man ? all Emperors and Pharaohs who would come after would become Osiris in death. It is the purpose of this paper to present the myth of Osiris, his relationship with his wife, Isis, and his death.
